Dan Miner

Organist

Who I Am

Dan grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, MI and came to Texas via Arizona where he lived for two years. He received bachelor degrees from Michigan State University in Music Education as well as Piano Performance with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy.
In addition to his organist duties at First United Methodist Church Pasadena, he is the Assistant Choral Director at Atascocita High School where he teaches the Concert Men, Concert Women, Concert Treble, and Forte! choirs as well as AP Music Theory. He also teaches piano privately, accompanies local community and school choirs, and sits on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for the American Guild of Music- an international organization that promotes music education for private music teachers through sponsored contests, conventions, and examination programs. Dan also composes and his choral compositions are published in the Jonathan Palant Choral Series under the Mark Foster/Hal Leonard Corporation.
He is thrilled to be a part of not only the music ministry team, but also as part of such a welcoming church community.
